Skin Care Tips for Men

Every person has a different skin type. Men or Women, everyone needs to take care of their skin. Men skin tends to be thicker than women, so men tries to keep it simple as compared to women. It does not mean men needs to take things for granted. They need to build a necessary routine for taking care of their skin properly just like women.

Keep it simple, follow basic skin care tips and get a healthy skin sooner than ever.

WASH YOUR FACE PROPERLY :

Wet your skin with warm water.

Warm water will open your pores and even give your cleanser a good form.
Using cold water will close the pores and will not be able to clean the dirt and dust.
Don’t use towel , use hands to apply water on your face .

Know your skin type and get a perfect cleanser.

There are a lot of good cleansers available in the market, Know your correct skin type and buy the cleanser according to your need. Don’t use soap bar, soap tends to dry out your skin. Buy a gentle cleanser with no harsh chemicals.

Exfoliate Your Skin

If you were in a lot of dirt recently or you have sweat a lot recently, it is advised to exfoliate your skin. Exfoliating will strip away dead skin and dirt and will reveal a shiny layer beneath.

Clean your face with lukewarm water

Wash your cleanser on face with lukewarm water and pat-dry with a clean towel. Do not rub towel on your face, it might irritate your skin.

Apply Moisturizer

Washing your face strips it off with essential oils that protect your skin. For a healthy skin, apply moisturizer after every wash.

Repeat above process twice the day- don’t overdo it.

Washing face again and again will strip away essential oils from your skin and can even cause irritation. However you can wash it multiple times if you are doing any physical activity and hence sweat a lot.

SHAVE PROPERLY

Choose a proper razor

Choose a razor with one or two blades, if you get razor burns- avoid multi- blade razors.
Remember to change the razor blades after every 5 to 7 shaves.

Wet your skin with warm water

Before shaving, wet your face with warm water or you can even wrap a wet cloth on your face , this will moisten your skin and soften your hair to make shave easier.

Use Shaving Cream

Shaving Cream creates a barrier between your skin and facial hair thus makes the shave easier. It helps to prevent cuts and razor burns.

Shave in direction of hair growth

Do not shave in opposite direction of hair growth. Take care of acne while shaving.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

Get Enough Vitamin-A

Vitamin A keeps skin firm and helps in skin regeneration. So, take enough vitamin-A in your diet. Carrots, Fortified grains, cereals and eggs contains adequate amount of Vitamin-A.

Take Antioxidants.

Antioxidants help strengthen cell membranes.
Some of the best sources for antioxidants are:

  • Berries, especially strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries.
  • Plums.
  • Green tea.

Drink Enough Water

Water keeps your skin healthy. Drinking enough water makes you sweat efficiently and flush away waste products easily.

Avoid Processed Sugar

Processed Sugar causes dark spots and wrinkles. So avoid Junk Food.

Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

Don’t Smoke

Smoking narrows the blood vessels close to the skin’s surface, choking it of essential nutrients and leading to a buildup of waste products. To keep your skin healthy, it’s best to avoid smoking altogether.

Reduce Stress

Stress leads to various skin imperfections. A regular tension can cause wrinkles and dark spots.

Get Plenty of sleep

Damaged skin get repaired on its own. Skin tends to repair during your sleep. Hence a proper sleep is very necessary for healthy skin.

Exercise Regularly

Exercising increase your blood flow, flush away toxins and bring more blood to your skin. Always remember to wash your face after exercising.
